- 12 fresh jalapeno peppers
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 small onion
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- Start by washing and drying the jalapeno peppers. Remove the stems and cut the peppers in half lengthwise.
- Peel and roughly chop the garlic cloves and onion.
- In a small saucepan, combine the jalapenos, garlic, onion, vinegar, salt, sugar, and water.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 15-20 minutes, until the jalapenos are softened
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes.
- Carefully transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
- If the sauce is too thick, you can add a little more water to reach your desired consistency.
- Once blended, taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Transfer the jalapeno sauce to a clean, airtight jar or bottle and store it in the refrigerator.
